As we navigate the ever-changing fintech landscape, it’s essential to stay informed about the job market within this dynamic industry. In 2024, the fintech segment experienced a tumultuous year, marked by an abrupt shutdown and subsequent acquisition of accounting startup Bench. Despite this setback, some fintech companies continue to thrive, and many are still hiring.
A Call for Fintech Companies Hiring
In an effort to better understand the current job market in fintech, I put out a call earlier this year, asking for fintech companies that were actively hiring. The response was overwhelming, with over a dozen companies reaching out within just over an hour. Over the span of a few days, I received more than 60 responses from various fintech organizations.
The Surprising Number of Open Roles
The sheer number and quality of responses were surprising, even to someone who regularly writes about this space. This trend continued when revisiting the list a few months later, with many companies still hiring, albeit not as aggressively as before. Some fintechs have even increased their hiring efforts, taking on more roles than they had initially.
